2013

2013 is almost over and I cannot believe another year has just flown by.  It’s been a whirlwind of a year full of fun times and some trying times but I know everything that I go through and accomplish will all make me a stronger person.  The great thing about 2013 is that I’ve learned a lot about myself and also reaffirmed things I already knew, which is awesome and lets me know I’m *almost* on the right track.  One of the things I’m most proud of is getting my blog redesigned, which was a long time coming.  Even though I’m very happy with the results, I’m already thinking about the next redesign; my brain works in crazy ways.  It’s weird, I’m both nervous and excited about what 2014 will bring.  I know for sure it’ll bring more delicious foods, wedding celebrations and hopefully some travel thrown in there.  2013 has been the biggest year in growth for my blog and I’m extremely optimistic that 2014 will be even better.  I’m looking forward to writing more and hopefully partnering with some cool companies and people.  So, here’s what I’ve been up to in 2013…

Got a chance to see one of my closest friends get married…so beautiful!

So excited and overjoyed to officially be a contributor for Nooga.com with my cooking column What’s Cooking. Yay!

John and I had an interesting mid-year experience with dogsitting my parents’ dog. It was a lot of fun but also really stressful at times.  But she’s so cute!

It’s been super-exciting helping my BFF with her wedding plans and I was really excited to attend her engagement party and tag along with her to find a wedding dress.

I made a not so smart decision to attempt to do a juice cleanse. Not the best decision I’ve had this year but I tried and unfortunately, failed.

Since moving to Tennessee, I’ve been so blessed to have met some amazing folks; I’m glad to call them friends.

John and I got a chance to get away for a few days and head to Savannah, GA and it was so much fun!

Went to Chattanooga’s first Whiskey Festival.

Attended my first UGA/Tennessee game where I thought I would die from how hot it was outside.  We had a blast but it felt like hell.

Got reunited with a few friends this fall in Atlanta…

So excited to have met the awesome creator of the site BlerdNation. Please check out her site and get some merch!

I love having visitors and I’m so happy I had some of my favorite people come and visit me this year. I hope they all come back and even more of my friends will visit in 2014.

Can’t forget about the trip to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery…

One of the most exciting things that happened was starting a business with these girls.  We haven’t fully launched yet but next year is going to be so amazing with the ideas we have…can’t wait!

For a little information on our new business, check out our website and follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.  We’re still building the site and working on some things but the foundation has been laid and we couldn’t be more excited.

I have to be honest and maybe a little mushy but a lot of this couldn’t have been done without my little Johnny.  He’s been so honest and supportive about everything and I’m sure 2014 will be very exciting for us.

Cheers to a new year! Don’t forget to make one (or both) my New Year’s pomegranate cocktails!

‘Till next year…
