2014 Food Resolutions

Alright 2014, I’m ready. Ready to try to new things and have a little fun.  For 2014, though only in it’s third day, I’ve already pondered a little list of goals I’d like to accomplish for food-related activities.  Obviously, my goals (I like to say goals instead of resolutions…I’m a rebel) are food-oriented.  That shouldn’t surprise you. Drumroll…ok, I guess there isn’t a need to be that dramatic.  Here’s what I’m doing this year:

Always keep champagne in my house…for impromptu celebrations or for jazzing up cocktails.

Make lemon curd. I thought I would achieve this in 2013 but I did not. Let’s try again.

Try my hand at making a pho…well, faux pho at least.

Learn more about food photography and styling.

Purchase more books on food like Little Paris Kitchen and Mastering the Art of French Eating.

Find more food and lifestyle blogs to follow and connect with.

Experiment with new cocktails using fun products like this lavender lemon syrup.

Naturally, I couldn’t think about my food goals without pondering some personal goals for 2014.  Part of me feels like if I share it publicly, I’ll be more inclined to get it done.  That makes sense, right?
I would love to snag another writing gig.
Do a little traveling both domestic and international.  Preferably here and maybe here.

I would love to score more marketing, PR and event freelance opportunities.

Promote my blog more.

Continue growing my social media following.

Last but not least, keep growing and nurturing my relationship with John. Yay!

Happy New Year!

I can say from personal experience, keeping champagne in the fridge is a great idea! I've been doing this for a few months, and while I've only used it on 2 occasions, those occasions were fantastic! Lemon curd sounds like a good thing to know how to do, and I think Mary from Chattavore is the go-to person to help make that happen. The other fun thing I did last year, that is super easy to do is make fruit syrups to use in drinks. I made a blackberry syrup, and it's really great to have around. I froze some, and have used it in margaritas, lemonade, and fun vodka drinks.

    Cheers to 2014!!
